I can still remember being introduced to the Team and Orrin Woodward. The idea that I could build a community, lead people to success, and make a difference in their lives seemed unreachable at best, but more likely impossible! How could someone like me lead people and help them grow in the 8 F's of their lives? The answer is I could not lead them there!  You cannot lead someone to a place you have never been, but you can invite them on the journey! The moment I realized that to build a community first was about leading people to the source of information that could change their life, not that I had to change their life was a relief to say the least! The best leaders on the Team are the messengers not the message.  They tell stories about people who have overcome and share the source of information that helped them change. Years ago I was given a poem by my daughter, who happened to be 3 years old at the time.

I was plugged into most of the popular media systems - and my life reflected it. My attitude was that the media I was using: TV, movies, newspapers, radio, magazines, etc., didn't play a role in my thinking, and certainly had nothing to do with my children's future. "You don't know what you don't know," right?

Being introduced to the TEAM education system has truly opened my eyes. To quote Orrin Woodward, "ideas have consequences," and not only for you, but also for everyone that you come into contact with. When I first read this poem, I thought it was cute. It sat on my dresser as a keepsake for quite some time.

Now it has a whole different meaning in my life. Let me share it with you.

"Walk a little slower Daddy," said a child so small. "I'm following in your footsteps and I don't want to fall. Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes they're hard to see; so walk a little slower Daddy, for you are leading me. Someday when I'm all grown up, you're what I want to be; then I will have a little child who'll want to follow me. And I would want to lead just right, and know that I was true; so walk a little slower Daddy, for I must follow you."

Today was a great day for our family because of the leadership of TEAM, the TEAM training system and our mentors. Because of the freedoms Lisa and I have earned through learning leadership principles, we strive to take this poem to heart. We now home school our kids and teach them priceless values and principles we have learned through the LIFE training the TEAM has provided. Everyday we are free to catch those teachable moments our kids have and set them on a better path.

We were brought into a system of achievement and growth that gives our daughters the "footsteps" to follow, and gives us the time to invest in our kids and their future. The ideas we share and live today will echo for generations to come.

Where are your footsteps leading and who is following? We will all create a ripple effect in our lives. It's your choice what that ripple will create tomorrow.

We have been given a chance to take personal responsibility to be the light and example this world that the next generation so desperately needs. We have chosen to follow great leaders in TEAM, and to do our best to learn and grow so we can provide an example and path for the next generation to follow. God willing, we can create even a small ripple starting in our own home that will continue to have generational consequences for our family and others who our children will influence.

Maybe you don't have kids of your own, but odds are, somewhere down the road you will be given a chance to influence someone that will influence someone which will have generational consequences.

Today we have so many distractions, so many things fighting for our attention it is not surprising so little gets accomplished.  In a world of distraction and entertainment can someone focus on something of significance and make a difference? Leadership is such an important difference maker in life, yet we see so little examples to follow.  There has never been a time in history where we needed more men and women to stand up and be different, focus on one thing and lead! I wanted to share a quick post about a couple of friends who have decided to live a life of excellence and be an example to follow.

I first met Steve and Jamie a couple of years ago and introduced them to the Team and Orrin Woodward.  They were both school teachers and began to recognize the lack of leadership and life skills being taught to the next generation.  Shortly after getting started with the Team, they decided to focus and make leadership their masterpiece.  Over the last couple of years they have influenced thousands and are making an impact in families across the globe. I am so proud to partner with a couple who is willing to get out of their comfort zone and invest in others to make a difference one family at a time.

You may ask, why would I give up the short term pleasure of entertainment, instant gratification and mediocrity? A life not lived is a life not worth living. We where built for more, a purpose, to serve others and to live a life of excellence.  The rewards of leadership are unmatched, leadership is the highest and the most noble of professions when you find the right path to lead people on.  I have join forces with Orrin Woodward and the Team leaders to go into the living rooms of America and lead people to truth.  To introduce people to the LIFE training that the Team offers to improve their life in all categories. 

I have included a short clip of one of the many benefits of becoming a leader and investing your life into others.  Steve and Jamie are beginning to live the lifestyle of a leader on the Team. Someone who works hard and serves, but also because of this commitment and work ethic, plays hard and enjoys experiences few will ever get.  Steve and Jamie spent a few days off the coast for Florida with Orrin and Laurie Woodword on their 76 foot yacht.  Very few people will ever get the opportunity to be on a private yacht that is owned by their friend and mentor, let alone jump off the top into the ocean!

Pursue excellence, serve more, focus on something that matters, and you will live the life of a leader!

Wow, how things have changed! The question is did you change or did you just adapt to the changes around you! I have spent the last couple of days with top 10 leadership guru Orrin Woodward at his property in Florida. There is nothing I could do to stretch my thinking more than hanging out with Orrin.  We were able to talk into the wee hours of the night on all topics of life, faith, family, fitness, finances,friends, fun, freedom and following!  I was reminded how valuable it is to get around someone who is living the life you are striving for, on stage and off.  The Woodwards are some of the most authentic people I have ever met.

Change is something everyone fears, but it seems at the same time change is the only thing that will produce the life they want.  We have become a society where we are looking to everyone and everything else to change to fit our needs, only it continues to get worse.  The only real answer is to take control of your life and create the changes necessary to create the results you are looking for. Team has been instrumental in changing my story over the last couple of years.  The secret to success if getting the secrets from someone who has succeeded in what you are chasing. Team has provide answers that seamed so illusive in the past, so unattainable for me. After a few short years and because we chose to change not adjust to change, everything has changed for the better!

Let me take you back to the last couple of days....picture your auto mechanic and day care provider sailing on the Atlantic ocean in a 76 foot yacht, with there multimillionaire friends and business partners.  Cruising at 20 knots, creating a wake that ripples on for hundreds of feet.  Suddenly 15 or so dolphins begin to play in the wake jumping and swimming within feet of the boat.  Their kids are squealing with joy as they watch this event and the smell of the ocean blows through their hair and the sun sparkles in their eyes.  Sounds like a far fetched fairy tail right, something resurved for someone else and other kids, or maybe with the right vehicle, the right information and a duplicatable system.....it is possible!

In a dog eat dog, look out for number one, hold your cards close, step on other people to succeed world, mentor-ship has all but disappeared.  One of the most powerful things that I have received from the Team community is the power of mentor-ship.  I finally learned the lesson to only take advice from someone who has the results in life that I would like to see in my own life.  One problem, everywhere I looked nobody had the results I was looking for, they had results I was running from! The future of business is Community, combining hungry students with willing mentors to improve all areas of our lives, Faith, Family, Finance, Freedom, Friends, Fitness, Fun and Following. Mentor-ship can be found in books, audios, seminars and in person. Who are you seeking to lead and grow you to a better future? Are you hungry and humble enough to mentor and move on? Orrin Woodward is quickly becoming the top mentor in the world to many people and developing hundreds and soon thousands of mentors to make an impact in this world. What is your motivation? What keeps you up at night? What is it that will push you out of your comfort zone to become your best self? I remember some of the early Team meetings I would attend and hear these kind of statements or questions. My first thought was, give me something tangible, some details, tell me what to do! “Those who know how will always work for those who know why” Henry Ford. Ouch that hurt! It was interesting I was sitting in a meeting trying to learn how to get different results, but expected to hear what I already knew. Those who know and not do, really do not know! Every success book I have picked up has discussed at some point (usually the beginning) how it started with a dream and you will have too as well. This is not some scam to get your hopes up and get you to do something for someone else, my job was good at that. The promise of a bigger raise, more time off, a promotion. This is real, Orrin Woodward has gone on a mission to get Americas hopes up again, just like when this great nation was founded. Only he has also created a vehicle you can use to accomplish your dreams! Can you image the amount of courage it took to do what the founders did. This country, our freedom, was started on a hopes and a prayers of a few, and has blessed many for a couple hundred years.   Take time to find your dream, your purpose and go do the work.  Here is a great video from Launching a Leadership Revolution that will help you find your motivation.
